Here come the Programme Experts
July 27, 2024Becoming Messengers for Peace
September 20, 2024The Organisational Development Committee (ODC) is running an exciting project to improve our volunteer management capacity and support Members with recruiting, onboarding, training, supervising, motivating and recognising volunteers.
We have called this project the Volunteer Journey as it encompasses all stages of volunteer involvement with the organisation.
We are now looking for volunteers to help us deliver the workload for some of those individual workstreams. This is a short-term involvement for about 3-4 months, starting from mid-October 2024, to provide additional capacity and skills to existing members of the ODC.
Volunteer Recruitment workstream:
We are looking for 4 to 5 people to help us review all our volunteer role descriptions. We want to make our volunteer role descriptions look, read and feel great, and serve as appealing and effective resources to advertise roles at the international, national, local and programme levels. We want them to market volunteering at CISV as an exciting opportunity, benefiting those involved, and us as an organisation.
If you are:
- a wordsmithing guru,
- a marketing professional,
- and/or have great experience in volunteer recruitment,
please give us a shout and we would love to work with you on this project.
Volunteer Retention and Impact workstream:
We are looking for 4 to 5 people to help us improve how we keep our volunteers motivated to deliver the great work they do, and how we can better demonstrate the impact of our volunteers and programmes. We want our volunteers to feel involved, engaged and motivated, and be able to see the value of their volunteering and the change they make towards programmes’ participants, our organisation and wider communities.
If you are:
- workforce management specialist,
- people engagement enthusiast,
- impact and evaluation development wizard
we want to hear from you so we can lean on your expertise to make this workstream a success.
Volunteer Recognition:
We want to make sure that great examples of impactful volunteering are recognised at all levels of volunteering within CISV! We want to be able to make sure that volunteers feel appreciated for the support they provide, and that we can share and learn from evidence of best practices in volunteering. We are looking at developing a brand-new, comprehensive and holistic approach to volunteer recognition, so looking for up to 20 people to help us with:
- researching how other similar to us organisations recognise their volunteers
- provide views on how volunteers would like to be recognised from their own perspective
If you are:
- an existing CISV volunteer at any level
- aware of good examples of volunteer recognition
- happy to attend focus groups to discuss models of volunteer recognition
we would love to hear from you to help us build an exciting culture of volunteer recognition at CISV. If any of this appeals to you, please complete the volunteer application form here by 20 October 2024. We will be reviewing those w/c 7th October and get back to you then with further details regarding the role. If you have any questions about this please do not hesitate to contact Jacob (CISV Programmes and Operations Lead), Carmen (EMEA Regional Manager), Esti (Asia&Pacific and Americas Regional Support) or Iris (ODC co-chair).
We are looking forward to hear from you.
